Football games were incredible when I was at Dulles.  There was only one year during my four years that we did not make playoffs.  The spirit was contagious.  Student sections for games were packed, and many came with their faces painted.
I was here when the Berlin Wall went down.  There was not much of a reaction at the school.  I think it had been so long since its erection that people in America had accepted it as part of life.  We did watch video clips of the reactions of students in Germany in my government class, and it was just incredible to us to see that instant sense of liberation.  We often take our own freedoms for granted, but we saw how precious liberation is when it has been denied.

The Bonfire we had our senior year was cool.  Football games were fun.

When Kurt Cobain of Nirvana committed suicide, we all wore black on his birthday.  I also remember the Cancun trip; it was the tightest time I had with my classmates and the last time I ever saw most of them again.
I remember one time when I got written up by my Algebra teacher.  He wrote on the slip that I was asking non-productive questions about Willie Nelson.  I went to the concert and showed it to Willie.  He kept the white copy for himself and autographed the yellow one for me.

It had to be when I took Mr. Thornberg's Honors Psychology course.  I knew after that what I wanted to do with the rest of my life.  Thank God - after so much school, I am almost there.

I will never forget our 1994-95 motto "Refuse to Lose"...this not only applied to our incredible football season, but denoted a heartening school.
