Why did you create this web site? My name is listed but I never contacted this site. Where did you get my name? How do I add my name or change my status to "in contact"? Some names have email links and some don't. Why? I didn't graduate from Dulles but I did attend Dulles at one time. May I be listed? One of my classmates has passed away. How do I pass this on to this site? Why are the names listed in different colors? Do you contact alumni after they've submitted their information? What is the function of this web site concerning reunions? Is the Dulles alumni message forum on Yahoo affiliated with this site? Is there a Dulles alumni association? Is this page affiliated with Dulles high school or Ft. Bend ISD? How secure is the information I submit to this site? I've been getting ads in my email using this web site's email address. Are they real? Some alumni sites charge money for some features. Does this web site do the same? I made a submission several days ago but no change in my status yet. What's up?
Why did you create this web site? While helping plan a reunion in late 2002 I discovered that the Dulles High School web site no longer offered pages for alumni links. Ft. Bend ISD and Dulles no longer had the time and resources to operate these pages so I obtained jfdullesalumni.org and picked up where Ft. Bend ISD left off. Since creating JFD Alumni I have obtained lists for all graduating classes: 1960 through 2007. Over 20,000 alumni are listed and over 4,000 are now listed as in contact or deceased. The purpose of JFD Alumni is to provide a place where former students of Dulles High School can regain and maintain contact with eachother.
My name is listed but I never contacted this site. Where did you get my name? All class lists were taken from yearbooks, graduation programs and alumni submissions. Your name most likely it came from one or more of these sources.
How do I add my name or change my status to "in contact"? Every class list has a submissions link at the top of the page. Click on this link and follow the directions. Once I receive your submission, I will update your status as soon as possible.
Some names have email links and some don't. Why? Email links are optional and will not be provided unless I'm given permission to do so. When filling out the submission form, please make sure you enter "yes" or "no" when prompted for an email link. A blank entry will be treated as a "no" and no link will be provided. If you're making a submission for somebody else, do not ask for a link if you haven't been given permission to do so.
I didn't graduate from Dulles but I did attend Dulles at one time. May I be listed? Yes you may. All former students are welcome to be listed on JFD Alumni. Please mark on the submission form whether you graduated from Dulles or elsewhere so I can list you as "graduated elsewhere".
One of my classmates has passed away. How do I submit this information? Contact me at alumni@jfdullesalumni.org. Be sure to provide the student's name, the year he or she graduated (or would have graduated), and, if possible, the date the student passed away. Since I now use a spam filter please be sure to put something like "Death of student" on the subject line, otherwise your message may be filtered out and I might not receive it.
Why are the names listed in different colors? To save time and file space I chose not to provide separate pages for students that are "in contact", "out of contact" or deceased. Students names are color coded to designate whether they're in contact, deceased or graduated elsewhere and a legend is provided at the top of every page to show the designation of each color.
Do you contact alumni after they've submitted their information? No. If I contact you it will be to notify you that you omitted something in your submission form. Please make sure you submit an email address and that this address is correct because if you don't provide an email address of if the one you provided is incorrect, I will not be able to contact you. On top of that, incorrect or omitted email addresses will prevent others from contacting you as well.
What is the function of this web site concerning reunions? The only assistance I give professional class reunion organizers is posting announcements on this web site. Some students choose not to use professional organizers so I'm a bit more open when it comes to providing information, but only if given permission to do so. At present the classes of 1960 thru 1970 are planning a multi-class reunion and all information will be passed to them because almost all the information I have was provided by these
Is the Dulles alumni message forum on Yahoo affiliated with this site? No. The Dulles Alumni message forum on Yahoo is hosted by another alum, Casey Lartigue. As a courtesy to Casey, I've provided a link to his forum so that you can have yet another way to contact your classmates.
Is there a Dulles alumni association? No, not unless one has been created recently. I'm just an alum that chose to pick up where Ft. Bend ISD dropped off when they closed their Dulles alumni pages in 2002.
Is this page affiliated with Dulles high school or Ft. Bend ISD? No. I am the owner and sole operator of this web site and other than some of the information passed on to me by Ft. Bend ISD, when I created this site, I've had no assistance from either Dulles High School or Ft. Bend ISD (though I'd appreciate any and all input from either).
How secure is the information I submit to this site? I do not pass on any personal information unless I'm given permission to do so. If you do not have a link and somebody asks for your email address, I will ask you first. The same goes for your address and telephone number. Though no computer is 100% safe, I'm paranoid enough to have several anti virus, firewall and anti spyware programs and I use them each and every day that I'm on my computer.
I've been getting ads in my email using this web site's email address. Are they real? Unfortunately some people don't update their virus programs often enough or don't use any at all, so their computers have become infected. Many viruses will gather email addresses from these infected computers and use these addresses when they post spam (ads) and infected email. Note: I do not send out ads or promotions from this site (or my personal email account). I do post announcements for class reunions. The closest I come to promoting another company is by providing the name of the company that may be organizing a class reunion.
Some alumni sites charge money for some features. Does this web site do the same? No. The only person shelling out money for this web site is me. Compliments are the only pay I get and they're greatly appreciated.
I made a submission several days ago but no change in my status yet. What's up? Sometimes I'm unable to handle submissions in a timely manner. When this happens I usually post an announcement on this site's main page. If you do not see a change in your status 14 days after making your submission, contact me at alumni@jfdullesalumni.org. Your email may have been lost or your submission may have had an error and I was not able to contact you about it..
